KKRF Leads Awareness Efforts on World Handwashing Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month (PINKTOBAR)

Quetta, Pakistan – In a significant health awareness event held at Government Girls High School, Killi Shekhan, the Kathleen Kamal Raisani Foundation (KKRF), in partnership with The Smaaj and the Women Development Department, commemorated World Handwashing Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event was attended by Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for the Women Development Department, who underscored the necessity of basic hygiene practices in reducing the spread of disease. She emphasized that many illnesses affecting children under the age of five, including respiratory infections and diarrhea, could be prevented through regular handwashing with soap. Dr. Buledi also drew attention to the escalating issue of breast cancer in Pakistan, where nearly 90,000 women are diagnosed annually, resulting in approximately 40,000 deaths.
