The Provincial Adviser for Women’s Development, Dr. Rubaba Buledi, affirmed the Balochistan government’s commitment to addressing the traditional challenges faced by women and girls in the province during an executive board meeting chaired by Dr. Kamal Raisani, the founding leader of the Kathleen Kamal Raisani Foundation (KKRF). The meeting, held in Quetta, emphasized the government’s efforts to ensure that women and girls in Balochistan are provided with all the rights they deserve, in a systematic and dignified manner.

The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including former Member of Balochistan Assembly Shakila Naveed Dehwar, Foundation Chairperson Gul Nisa, Co-Chairperson Sanam Gul, Chief Executive Zulekha Raisani, DMS Civil Hospital Quetta Dr. Mehboob Qambrani, representatives from First Women Bank Uzma Jatoi and Firdous Jatoi, as well as KKRF’s Director of Finance Sania Haq, Director of Programs Mahwish Saeed, Deputy Director of Programs Salma Roshan, Legal Advisor Khudai Nazar Advocate, and Director of Admin and HR Mansoor Gul.

Dr. Rubaba Buledi praised KKRF’s contributions across various fields, highlighting the shared goals of the foundation and the provincial government in empowering women. She expressed the government’s intent to address women’s challenges in sectors such as agriculture, where no formal rules have yet been established. She also stressed the need to increase provincial resources to achieve set targets for women’s empowerment and expressed her appreciation for KKRF’s work in remote areas of Balochistan. She urged the foundation to expand its scope further.

In his remarks, Dr. Kamal Raisani, the founding leader of KKRF, shared his vision for the foundation, established in 2022 to uplift the people of Balochistan. Having experienced poverty firsthand, he emphasized his commitment to reducing poverty in the province and empowering youth through skill development programs. He stated, “If we can reduce poverty by even one percent in Balochistan, I will consider it a great honor.”

Former Assembly Member Shakila Naveed Dehwar lauded the foundation’s work in health and education, calling it an exemplary model for other institutions. She emphasized the importance of KKRF’s mission in continuing the humanitarian work inspired by the late Kathleen Kamal Raisani, whose legacy lives on through the foundation’s efforts.
